In reply to: After upgrade to 2.7 – very slow@berendraap
We are searching for the problem – seems that version 2.7 have special needs for the server – or other way round: the server has a special setup which WordPress can’t handle…Will report as soon as I have more information.

In reply to: After upgrade to 2.7 – very slowThe fresh install has no .htaccess file.
And the tip which I get all the time: “Change your provider”. It’s a little bit to simple. Sorry to say – but I am quite disappointed – I started with my blog in october 2006 and never had such a problem…

In reply to: After upgrade to 2.7 – very slowIn my first posting I wrote that with version 2.6.5 I had loading time of about 1 second – now 5 and more.
Now I made a fresh installation – without any plugins and with Kubrik default Theme.
Loading time of the first page: 5 and more seconds.
I have the impression that there is a problem with the server – but I don’t understand that 2.6.5 was fast, 2.7 slow.
What did change in 2.7?

In reply to: Plugin update function brokenNo idea?
In the error-log of the server I find:
Sun Dec 14 20:39:24 2008] [error] [client xx.xx.xx.xx] client denied by server configuration:
/home/httpd/vhosts/blogkom.net/httpdocs/wp/wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager/images/database.png,
referer: http://www.blogkom.net/wp/wp-admin/update.php?action=upgrade-plugin&plugin=wp-db-backup%2Fwp-db-backup.phpWhat server configuration must be enabled that WP can install a new plugin?

In reply to: After upgrade to 2.7 – very slowI really don’t know and don’t understand why my report was declared “invalid”. Perhaps it’s a possibility to “fix” bugs?

In reply to: After upgrade to 2.7 – very slowIs there a known problem for WordPress 2.7 with this server combination:
PHP Version 5.1.6
Apache/2.0.46 (Red Hat)
MySQL Client API version 4.1.18I found a blog which also upgraded to version 2.7 and where the pages are loaded quite quickly.
The server info of this installation:
PHP Version 5.2.6
Apache/2.2.9 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.9 OpenSSL/0.9.7a mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635Forum: Installing WordPress

In reply to: Downgrade 2.7 to 2.6.5 ?Made a fresh installation WP 2.7 with new database, no plugins, with Kubrik default Theme and default first message (Hello World).
To load the first page it takes more than 5 seconds!!!
I am quite sure now that the server where WP 2.6.5 and older version ran without any problems doesn’t support version 2.7.
PHP Version 5.1.6
Apache/2.0.46 (Red Hat)
MySQL Client API version 4.1.18I am very disappointed.

In reply to: Downgrade 2.7 to 2.6.5 ?Thanks – but this doesn’t help – still very slow.
With Firebug I see that the call of http://blogkom.net/wp takes 6.6 seconds – and this is only the first part of the page.

In reply to: 2.7 loading/posting/saving is extremely slowI upgraded today from 2.6.5 to 2.7 (final release) – and everthing goes very slowly now. Not only the blog pages – also to load the admin pages takes 5 to 7 seconds. I tried to disable plugins but nothing chaged.

In reply to: WP admin pages very slowIt’s the plugin @feed which slows down the admin pages of WP.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/copyfeed/
I deactivated it and WP runs normally now.
