In reply to: How do you change blog theme/appearance?Hi Daniel,
No – in the end I kept my old blog, changed it’s style to match the site and just put a link to it in the main menu:
It’s not perfect, but it’ll do.

In reply to: URL to newest blog postHi kmessinger,
thanks for the reply.
My site is primarily to house a portfolio, and as such I have gone for the Gridlocked theme, as this best suits the portfolio I wanted.
I am keen to bring my blog over as a “news” section. However, the blog with Gridlocked is not particularly to my tastes:
as it displays blog posts in a grid pattern rather than the more traditional ‘scrolling strip’ – such as with my previous blog.
When you go into an individual post it’s not so disagreeable:
thismeanswaugh.com/archives/803
so I thought that if I could get a generic URL to the latest post I could link to this in the main menu rather than linking to all the blog posts together as it is now.
The only advice I’ve had elsewhere is either to go at the coding or change templates – both of which are pretty drastic.

In reply to: How do you change blog theme/appearance?Hi Esmi,
Thanks for the reply. Yeah that’s certainly something I’ve considered, but my website is primarily a portfolio site and I’ve settled on Gridlocked as the best portfolio theme for my needs. To use another theme would screw up everything else on my site.
I want a blog on there too, but instead of a traditional blog layout (a vertical strip with the most recent blog entry on the top), it’s laying all the blog entries out in a haphazard grid system. Based on the sheer volume of options available on the Dashboard, I thought it would have been a no-brainer to offer alternative layouts for the blog, but I’ve trawled the Gridlocked and WordPress options over and over and can’t find it.
I was hoping there would be a plugin that would offer me more options, but I can’t locate one.
