In reply to: please help the comments on my blog are acting wierdThat’s just your browser saving your info. If someone else were to go there they wouldn’t see that info. Clear your cache and refresh and it’ll be gone :o)

In reply to: 2.9.2 site hackedI would just like to say that when I install WP I generate fresh keys, I change the prefix from wp_ to something like Efhje4k9Ubc_, I make both my database name and password something as equally nonsense, and I create an account for myself and delete the admin user. I have never ever been hacked. I’m not saying I can’t be but taking these steps will certainly throw off a hacker 🙂

In reply to: can’t change the theme of the blogDid you make sure the folders aren’t nested? “Nested” means that when you unzip a theme, sometimes there’s a folder within a folder that contains the theme files. You want to upload just the folder that contains the theme files.

In reply to: WordPress Down Problem (Not Server Down)If you aren’t seeing the actual site inaccessible then my guess is that it’s not inaccessible. As macmanx said, traffic can fluctuate from minute to minute. I wouldn’t rely on a who’s online plugin to determine if my site is viewable. Have any of your visitors indicated they were unable to access the site?

In reply to: Possible bug issue???Let me see if I understand… so EVERY time you make a change it doesn’t show until you switch to the default theme and then back? If so, perhaps it’s a caching issue. Try making a change and then clear the browsers cache and refresh.

In reply to: very basic question on first stepsSorry — in the same area where you deleted the index.html, there should be an option to upload. Click that and then you should be able to choose the index.php from your hard drive.

In reply to: very basic question on first stepsSee the red download button in the upper right hand corner of the page? Download it, unzip it, and then upload the index.php to the same place you deleted the index.html :o)

In reply to: very basic question on first stepsAhhh! I bet you deleted the index.php instead of the index.html the first time!

In reply to: very basic question on first stepsThe index.html had not been deleted. If it was, you wouldn’t see it when you go to your URL.
