I’m not an expert, but i think you have a pretty good idea, and that’s possible coding a bit…
In the main line, you can edit your file which display the thickBox gallery, and you test if java-script is activated with this code :

if JS is activated you run the Thickbox code else you run the ImageBrowser code… I think that can work 😉
