Thank you for your quick and friendly reply.

I feel like an idiot because I didn’t have my email feed setup properly from within Feed burner. Thanks for taking the time to mention the feedburner settings or I would have never found it (or known it wasn’t set properly).

Hopefully it will help someone else to learn as well.

    Thanks again!

I can’t get into the admin area… Please forgive my ignorance… Is there a way to do it via FTP?

Okay I changed the name of the themes folder I’m using and I still get the same error message.

Do you have any suggestions as to a good place to read about how to install a fresh download of WP? I use dreamhost as a host and I just used their one click install to setup WordPress from inside their panel. I don’t know how to reload the files and folders via FTP. It sounds like you are suggesting that I reinstall Word Press except for the wp-content folder… I’m not sure how to do this without wiping out the entire site.

Again, I thank you for your time and help. Any suggestions are very much welcome.

if I rename the wp-content/themes to something generic like wp-content/old_themes will WordPress automatically switch to the default? Do I have to leave the default theme in a folder called wp-content/themes?

Thanks for your help! Its nice not to feel alone in this.

I’m having the same type of issue as Thumper 70 that all I have is a blank screen. I do not have a 404 Message. I cannot access my Control Panel etc.

Via FTP I changed my plugins folder to plugins.hold and made a new (empty) folder and named it plugins. I still get the same result a blank screen (but no 404 or any other type of error message.)

I cannot access the WP-Admin sign in page (blank page). I cannot access the dashboard in wordpress etc.

Any and all help is deeply appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

Here is the message that I was getting…

Unable to create directory /mnt/local/home/theof/lacanadapreschool.com/wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

What I realized is that my permissions were correct but somehow this site got switched to a “local” setting. To be honest I’ve taught myself everything I know about WP and I still don’t know much. However I know I’ve never set the site to a “local” mode.

I run another site with the same theme, same server and everything works. So what I did was under the Misc settings the path I looked at two sites that use the same theme, the same server etc. What I realized was that the site that did not work properly had the /mnt/local in the path and the one that works did not. So I deleted the extra text and success!

Again, I don’t know how this happened but maybe this can help someone else!

    Good:
    /home/theof/sherylobryan.com/wp-content/uploads

    Bad:
    /mnt/local/home/theof/lacanadapreschool.com/wp-content/uploads
