In reply to: [YourChannel: Everything you want in a YouTube plugin.] Quota breaches dailyWhich other plugin have you found? It seems that the support and website of the plugin builders has disappeared , not a good sign… π
Hi Phil,
Since this 512M is only 1/4 of the total server memory, could that really crash the entire VPS, so also other sites on there are not responding anymore?
The site uses Divi as its theme by the way.

Marcel
Hi there,
It says “Wordfence is working” , I’ll send a screenshot to your email address.
This message is there every time I click on something in the Wordfence plugin in the backend, but when I open WP through this link I mentioned in the first post, the yellow message doesn’t go away immediately but stays there, like the plugin is in a loop or something.
What basically happens at that time according to my server admin is that the 2 CPU cores and 2Gb of RAM that my VPS has allocated for ALL my clients are totally consumed by this site alone, and therefore crashing the VPS until it resets itself or they reset it.
Thanks,
MarcelHi Phil,
I’ve sent it, thanks in advance for tking a look at it!
PS: While the site was sending the email, I saw the same popup in the corner saying “Wordfence is working”, this is what it also looks like when things go wrong, except the site didn’t freeze this time luckily. π

Hi Jeff,
I disabled the plugin at the global plugins page like you said, but it still turns up at all pages of the site? Maybe I’m missing something?
I’m not really sure what these plugin filters are supposed to look like, do I put the entire path of the page in the ‘name’ field there?
Great thanks!

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Cloned site doesnt workHi there,
Yes, as far as there are instructions in the XCloner, the paths were correct already, and I filled in my database info and restored without errors. I reproduced it, to see what exactly happens.
My issue is resolved yes, I just have to change the path after the restore, I have a screenshot of the exact place where the wrong link is:

I don’t know for sure why the default path is not in there in my original site in the first place, maybe you know?

Marcel

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Cloned site doesnt workI’m not sure what you mean by ‘updated’?
After the restore, this path was under settings/writing I believe, but the strange thing is that after I changed it into wp-content/uploads, the option is gone. The previous setting was more like home/domains/etc/etc but with the info of the old server. I installed WP on the old location using the Direct Admin installation tool, and then I put a theme in.

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Cloned site doesnt workGoodmorning,
Thank you!
I found out what was causing it, the path for uploads in WP still pointed to the old location on the other server, apparently this setting is not changed by XCloner to point to the new location?Marcel

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Cloned site doesnt workHey there,
The links work again, that was the permalink setting indeed! π
Now the only problem I still have is not being able to upload files:
βtex2res4-300×300.pngβ has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory uploads/2013/10. Is its parent directory writable by the server?Do you have an idea where to look for the answer to this?
The files and folder rights in PHP 5.3 are 755 for folders and 644 for files, so I can’t change that? Do I have to give the database user other rights maybe?Marcel

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Cloned site doesnt workI have done a second try, with all plugins de-activated (except the XCloner of course) , and I also noticed that last time I used the version of XCloner that I had for Joomla to do the restore, maybe that is also wrong?
This time the site seems to work, only the links to pages are not working, I think this is the permalink problem that was mentioned?
And uploading images is also impossible:βtex2res4-300×300.pngβ has failed to upload due to an error

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Cloned site doesnt workThank you very much for the help!
Do you mean disabling all plugins before making a backup of the site?
Or disabling the plugins on the copied site?Marcel

In reply to: [Backup, Restore and Migrate your sites with XCloner] Cloned site doesnt workHi there,
I still don’t know what you meant, because the site didn’t work, I also couldn’t get into the backend to save something from the permalink section?
However I did find a clue now, in the wp-config.php file the database information was not correct for the new server, it was still the old information from the server where the backup was made, I changed it and the site now seems to start, but the links are still pointing to the old location too…
Isn’t this supposed to be done automatically by the XCloner.php when the site is restored? In Joomla the config file is automatically changed with the new database info as far as i know? π
