I gave up changing the width of the sidebar. Thanks anyway.
But now I have another problem: the search field simply won’t show on the header bar. It shows in the middle of the banner.
Any ideas?

I am still undecided if it is better to resize the side bar or if there could be a way to diminish the blank space between the side bar and the main area.
Is there a way to do that?
