I figured out what this was. I had to make sure the srt was hosted on the same host as the player. Duh. This wasn’t clear to me as it was on a multisite wordpress install.

Ok. This has been a nice public display of me figuring it out. Forever alone. Even in tech support.
Anyways, for the other forever alones out there. Just do this to fix the problem.

If you are too lazy, just go into the plugins folder and move the mediaelement folder and mediaelement-js-wp.php file out of the trunk folder and up one level into the media-element-html5-video-and-audio-player folder.

I also just confirmed this on another wordpress install on separate hardware. This time I upgraded from 2.0.5. Doesn’t show in the list of plugins either and videos stop working on the blog.
