One more question, do you know if I’ll need to change the redirect (complianceconsultantsinc.net -> ccicomply.net) while I’m working on building the site at the 2nd domain? Or will I need to place the 2nd domain “under construction” while working?

I have a feeling it’s going to take me a while to get the new site up and running, so leaving the old site under construction during that time isn’t an option.

It looks like exporting and importing the blog posts is relatively easy regardless of how I accomplish the rest, so that’s good.

Is it possible to install wp under a different subdirectory such as http://www.ccicomply.net/subdirectory and do all the work under that? I think I’ve seen other posts about how to then move the new site to where the old site was (https://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory)

Another thought I had, we own another domain name (www.complianceconsultantsinc.net) that currently just redirects to ccicomply.net. Could I build the new site under that domain and then somehow transfer it over to the main domain that we want to use?
