I´ve continued experimenting and have been able to narrow the remaining problem down. After deleting the image and uploading it again status quo is:

Without captions I can place the image exactly where I want to have it and using the code from above there´s a nice and clean wrap around it.

When I add a caption, then:
    a) a break is made in the text which just jumps back back when I fix it in the editor and
    b) the image is moved to the beginning of the paragraph

In this case it happens to work out as the length of the paragraph is then the same height as the image. But I´m still searching for a solution. Any ideas??

You know what happens when I do that? It just jumps right back.
If I repair that in the text editor, go to visual, and then back to the text editor, it´s broken again.

I also tried again from scratch and that break in the text “just happens”. I insert the image by placing the cursor right up front in the line where I want the top to be, that´s the correct way, isn´t it?? Hhhmm, strange.

I have not tried repairing the structure and the publishing directly from the text editor, I´ve been trying to avoid doing that more often than necessary.
    Should I??

    # alchymyth: thank you, that code fixes the bottom gap.
Yet the too big gap at the top remains (I haven´t published this yet).

Another thing I´ve noticed is that when I delete the photo that extra line stays put as if I´d pressed the enter button. I then have to delete the line to get the text into shape again.

In the course of researching this issue I´d installed Firebug, but to be honest: I just don´t get it. I have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, but nothing fancy.
