In reply to: [OceanWP] This page could not be found! We are sorry.UPDATE- I hired someone from fiverr to help me – (was way cheaper than bluehost helping me) anyway – the guy that helped said “There was a problem with htaccess code which was redirecting it to index.html which doesn’t exist.” – someone else on this forum had suggested that but couldn’t explain to me how to fix it. Anyway….it’s fixed.

In reply to: [OceanWP] This page could not be found! We are sorry.Thank you – The home page that has the error is supposed to be the blog page which is loading fine if you click on the “blog” tab, so that shouldn’t be the problem. I have optimized as you suggested and that didn’t help. Bluehost won’t help me with anything without charging (which is not very nice) and I can’t figure out how to to the .hta thing. I am trying to work with someone on fiver so hopefully they can figure out the issue and resolve it. I will definitely update here once it is fixed.

In reply to: [OceanWP] This page could not be found! We are sorry.Okay yes I changed the theme to a default theme – it did not work. Any other suggestions? I hate to hire someone to fix it for me when it’s probably something simple.

In reply to: [OceanWP] This page could not be found! We are sorry.Thank you. I have updated the permalinks, deactivated the plugins and checked the page settings in readings. My homepage is set to latest posts but even if I change it to a static page I can’t get anything to display on the home page. Whatever page i designate as the home page give me the same error message and then that page also will give the error message. If I leave the settings on latest posts – all the pages work fine except for the homepage. It’s very strange and I don’t know how long its been like this since my last post was March 24 and I think I would have noticed if this were happening but then again I usually post the link to the post and that link would have been working.
Can you tell me how to change the theme to a default theme? That’s the only thing I haven’t tried yet.
If that doesn’t work do you think I should try to do a restore from a backup? I’m nervous to do that because I’ve never done that and I still don’t know what caused the issue.
OK thanks I already checked with my host and they havent been helpful unless I pay $150 – I deactivated each plugin one at a time and nothing changed. I have contacted my theme as you suggested and am waiting to hear back. I’d rather not pay the $150 if I can figure out how to fix it myself – they were recommending a restore from backup which I can do on my own – I’m just afraid to do it myself! Thanks for the suggestions.
Thank you – yes I understand that. I switched it to a static page just to see if it would fix the error I’m getting but it did not. I have always had my homepage set to display my latest posts and it worked fine, so I just don’t know what happened to change that.
got it thanks. Here is the imgur link https://imgur.com/a/SjllxKY
oh I see it didn’t work – so how do I add a screenshot? It doesn’t appear that I can add an image.

I’m not sure how to add a screenshot – did this work?
I see that the page I’m having trouble with is this page https://sherylzkatz.com/index.html I don’t understand what you mean that wordpress doesn’t include this. I’ve never had a problem before so I feel like I have to figure out what changed to cause this problem but I don’t know what to look for.
Thank you for responding! Yes under settings and reading i have LATEST POSTS selected. I’ve had this site working fine for 4 years and have never had this problem. I changed it to static page and selected ABOUT ME for the home page and BLOG for the post page and that caused both the home page and about me page to get the no page found message so I put it back the way it was.
