Actually it DID work. My knowledge of coding and CSS is very limited (clearly!). I am using this plugin called “Simple Custom CSS” to add custom CSS, and by default it has these characters (comments?) on each side: http://www.ronchapplestock.com/rcs/customcss.png
I thought I was supposed to put the code between them. Turns out that’s what the problem was. Once I removed the comments, it worked perfectly. Thank you again, as always, for your help. I do truly appreciate it! I am so grateful for public forums such as this to help me figure stuff out! Sara

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately that didn’t work either.
I am confused about adding Custom CSS. I did get the plugin you suggested. Am I doing this right? Please see link for attachment. I do not see the added code in the style.css but maybe I’m not supposed to? How can I make sure it is loading late in the page? Can I add it manually at the bottom of the style.CSS file? Yes, I am a novice…..!

What is best practice when doing so? Would it make sense for me to create a backup of Insync and edit one, so I have one copy that’s unedited? Will all my changes be deleted when the child theme is updated?
What is the purpose of using a “custom CSS plugin”? Am I safer using something like that? Or does it just make it easier for people like myself with not as much experience?

I can use JW’s iFrame embed code (bypassing the plug-in) but then my video looks terrible for some reason. I am not a coder, just a photographer trying to wrap my brain around all of this stuff. I feel like I am Mcgyvering a patchwork monster of sorts, just trying to make it all work. If you are ever available for paid customization, will you please let me know? Thanks again, Kyle! Sara

I have to use your plug-in, as it’s the only way I’ve been able to get chapters to work. Also the JW Player for wordpress plugin does not allow you to add videos from URL. I am quite thankful for your plugin.

Thanks for responding.
Actually I was able to edit the text by tweaking video-embed-thumbnail-generator.php (line 2357). So now my custom text shows up every time, no extra work – yea!
As for adding adding “player=x” attribute, can I still do that if I am using a URL (from JW Player account) to embed my video? It can’t seem to find the source to play. I can see how one would that using a Media ID (from Media Library).

By using a fresh site, I have managed to get rid of the gray bar at the bottom (still not sure what that was supposed to be – gallery??) but still having issue with the black bar. However, how it is not just the poster / thumbnail (as before), but the entire movie. My original vid I’m linking to (embed via URL) is 1920 x 1080, and I want the vid to be 900 x 506 on the site. Have tried multiple variations on settings, and still can’t get my vid to be 900 x 506.

Would gladly pay for the plug-in OR support! Just installed your plug-in, and very glad I did, as it’s the only way I’ve been able to get my markers chapters to work, so thank you!
I am very much a newbie, so apologies for simplistic questions, however I am having a few issues. First, I have a large black space around my Poster image, which is 1920 x 1080, so does not make sense. Black space goes away once the video starts, thank goodness. I am also wondering how I can remove the large gray area at the bottom with the thumbnail. Is the thumb supposed to be the “gallery area”? Confused about this.
