I have also discovered this issue. The Basket page works fine, just one place to write the gift card code but the checkout page has it repeated 5 times and it is linked to each block so I can’t change it. I built a temp checkout page to see how it behaves and every woo block that I added has the gift card linked to it.
So this issue has just happened again. I’ve not changed any passwords.
Yes, changing to a different email address that uses same server worked.
My host changed the plugin settings back to the original email settings but he alse said he reset my SMTP password to the same one to force a password syncs across all systems. (I’m not 100% sure what this means)
For the moment it is working with the email I originally had. I’m monitoring it and will report back if it stops working again.

Some additional information for you.
I changed my email and password to an alternate and it worked fine. This is an email hosted on the same server.
My host then changed it back to my original email that wasn’t working and it is now working again.
Could it be that the plugin is losing settings?
Yes I’ve contacted my host and no changes to server
