Hi John, thanks for your reply, after a couple of hours trying to work out why this was happening, I realized I had deleted the / at the end of the URL when I set up the redirects, when I added it back the links in the SERPS worked and redirected. I thought that trailing slashes didn’t make a difference but they clearly do, so if you delete them then the 301 will not trigger and you get a 404.
