Version 3.1: Click ‘Install Now’ at left hand sideIf you are using version 3.1 or later. You won’t see the “actions” text. It has been removed.

The updated wordpress plugin is working fine for us.
We’ve checked all the recent changes and can’t see anything that would cause an issue.
If you’d like to supply us with your wordpress log in details we can investigate your particular install to see if we can find anything causing a problem.

I’m sorry to hear about your bad experience using the plugin.
We just rolled out an update over the weekend for it. It was working fine in our tests but unfortunately there were some situations where this error occurred.
We immediately rolled out a fix when we were notified of this problem. If you would like to get the latest plugin for StatCounter now it is working correctly. One of the improvements we rolled out is allowing you to view your StatCounter stats without ever leaving your wordpress dash!
I apologise for the trouble caused to you and we will add a test for this problem to the usual checks we do before releasing any updates. So something like this won’t happen again. I hope you will give the plugin another chance!

This bug only occurs under certain conditions and it went unnoticed before we released it.
The advice on how to fix it is spot on and we’ve already applied and sent the fix to wordpress. It should be available to download from wordpress shortly.
