What error do you get, when you go to your subdomain? Does it redirect you to your main page (mysite.com)?
Yeah, I tried that, but it didn’t seem to work. But even if it did, it wouldn’t recreate my galleries for me.
I do wonder why WordPress doesn’t have an extra table for pictures and galleries (like NextGen for example).

I did figure it out earlier, but couldn’t respond, because apparently this topic was closed.
And sorry, I misused the work subfolder. I mean a subfolder in /var/www, not the subfolder method from WordPress.
What I basically had to do is create a new Virtual Host file in /etc/apache2/sites-available/ with the subdomain name.
