Both sites show up fine as front end – and the second site I added, the locally hosted backup of my live site, logs in perfectly well. I’m only having trouble with logging in to the first site – which definitely worked at some point in life as I had written a couple of test posts.

Hm, thank you for the link! However, I am in phpMyAdmin and see two databases, I’m guessing the one I created for my blog is “test” which has absolutely nothing listed under “structure.” I also have a database called “information_schema” with no WP related options including no wp_users.
Is it possible that in also downloading my live blog as a second site to be self hosted (also shows up via localhost) I somehow messed something up??
Any ideas of what is going wrong here?
