  • I’m having a similarly frustrating result. I created my new blog http://www.woolcottandcompany.com/blog as a way for my staff members to communicate with our customers. The idea is for each staff member to have an account. I created an account for Kat, with a password as *******. But when trying to sign in I get a password error message.

    Any ideas folks??

I’m stuck here. Is there a tutorial to help create new users. What I’m attempting to do here is have other staff memebers be able to sign on and write posts. I’m at a loss.

    thanks in advance

    THANKS tons!

I retreated from Earthlink after they wouldn’t “support third party software” when i went to them for help with MT. They changed something on their end and wouldn’t/couldn’t explain what they did…so good bye Earthlink, hello Bluehost. I’ve been extrememly pleased with both the customer support and the service…especially the price!

Ahhh, I should have done this before switching servers because MT isn’t installed on my new server. That’s OK, then.

where do I get, how do I get this “import.txt” file??

thanks, but where is this “import.txt” file??

I too am having a problem with themes. I checked the previous posts and my “themes” do live in the following location on my site:
    ftp://sprboston.com/public_html/wp-content\themes\ocadia\style.css

But when I go to the “presentations” section of WordPress, the option to selece Ocadia isn’t available. is there a way to refresh that page? I see wordpress classic 1.5 and wordpress default 1.5…but not the new one I downloaded from WordPress then uploaded to my files…

Any ideas? The rest of wordpress seems to be working just fine, although I’d like to adjust the “description” at the top because it’s too close to the margins…any ideas there??

Thanks in advance for your help.

I’m sorry, folks…you’re probably assuming I know more than I know.

podz wrote: Whatever you have working here in MT corresponds…where do I find the information that is working for MT? I’ve opened the MT.cfg file is this information in there?? Because I can’t find a database name, dbuser, dbpassord…nothing

Sorry to ask more questions…but I’m switching to WordPress from MT since MT no longer works and I can’t figure out how on earth to fix it. But this instruction has me baffeled!

    What “personal settings”??
I get how to open, change and save the file named wp-config-sample.php…but I don’t know what my personal settings are…is that pathetic?

define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘wordpress’); // The name of the database (is this the name of my blog??)

define(‘DB_USER’, ‘username’); // Your MySQL username (do I simply create any user name I want?? or is this the user name to access my files …the space purchased from Earthlink)

define(‘DB_PASSWORD’, ‘password’); // …and password (password I create to work with WordPress or the one I use to access my web files via earthlink?)
define(‘DB_HOST’, ‘localhost’); // 99% chance you won’t need to change this value

Thanks in advance for your patience.

    Sean
