  • Seeing that the other one is hosted on WordPress Hosted Blog, this would much better be posted at wordpress.com support forums as this one is for self hosted.

Someone on there will be able to help you much better then I. It is sad when this happened (something like this has happened to me before) and ingoring them and just moving on is a wise idea but some people just never let anything go.

To sum up, I would post on wordpress.com support forums as that forum is for WordPress hosted blogs.

Well, you could stop the pings from to your site by IP banning the server that the other blog is hosted on so that any requests is simply not allowed.

However, it isn’t very simple to get the other person to stop writing about you. If she is hosted on a free blog host, you could complain to them and explain what is going on and they “might” remove the blog.

If the person hosts her own blog, try and contact her host. If you can give me the domain which the other person is writing you on, I can get the webhost from that.

The next stage after that if it doesn’t stop would be legal action, however that isn’t simple. It depends on what she is writing about as it is possible it will fall under freedom of speech in most places.

If you could give me the link where this other person is about you, I can give some more help based on that (I don’t care what the other person has written about you, just want to see if it is possibly “illegal”).

    On your own server, yes.

On WordPress.com, doubt it would need to read the TOS first.

Very likely a CSS error. You mind giving the link to the website in question ?

By the sounds of your last post, it seems to be a bug. You got the latest version of the plugin ?

Likely either of one of these three reasons.

    1) You are losing traffic.
    2) You access your blog alot without logging in and lately you been logging in alot while still accessing the same.
    3) It is possible that the needed Javascript isn’t being loaded. Access your blog while logged out, view the source and look near the bottom.

Make sure that the plugin is updated to the latest version.

Make sure you ain’t logged in as this plugin doesn’t display the code in your source if you are logged to stop it from logging you.

Do you see a smiliey face like 🙂 in your footer ?

Also, does your theme has the right wp_footer (can’t recall it from my mind) in the footer ?

I have went over what it says and ask you to do but no luck.

Do you mind showing use the FeedBurner URL in question ?

Also, if you are using FeedBurnder for your RSS on your blog, make sure that you forward the RSS feed /feed/ (Typically) to your FeedBurner URL. There are a few plugins here that can help with that.

It depends on the actual forum and what you actually want to do with it. Most major forum software at least as a mod to intergate the userbase with the forum and WordPress.

    phpBB
phpBB is known to have quite a few bugs and sadly is quite known to get cracked every other week but updates do roll out pretty quickly. If you want to use phpBB and want to intergate the users, follow this link.

    MyBB
MyBB is another free forum software (Not opensource, just free) that is much like the older versions of vB. MyBB support is okay and helpful and someone has made a bridge to intergate the two (Still in Beta, so be careful) and that can be located here.

    bbPress
Now I ain’t used bbPress alot but it the feel of bbPress is much like WordPress and offers a bridge to intergate both WordPress and bbPress together.

If I recall correctly, bbPress only works with 2.5.1 correctly right now and an update to bbPress to work with 2.6 however it is still being developed and it is unknown when it is be ready for the public. However, a good point is that it is developed by the same team as WordPress and it is likely they will keep developing it for as long as WordPress lives.

If you want to read the blog post about WordPress 2.6 and bbPress, click here

    Plugins
Now, you can also get a forum software that works as a WordPress plugin and the one I would say for you to get is known as Simple:Press. It intergate the userbase so your members do not need to sign up again to access your forum, with some minor editting and look exactly like your site and it can also sync blog posts and forum topics.

I personally would go with Simple:Press as it patches are made quickly, looks lovely and Andy is a nice guy like the support. However, it would to try them all and see which one you like the best.

Just remember, once you have choosen the one you want that it is often hard to then move to another one without alot of hassle. There are many others however this was posted quickly with the free ones I personally use.

It is a built in function in Simple:Press. You just create a new post and click select create topic.

All I have done is remove the comment link within the templates I use.

If intergation is what you need the most, bbPress would likely be the best for you as it is developed by the same people as WordPress.
