In reply to: [ArtistDataPress] Not working, no shows.Hey all (Alex and anyone else),
The transient caching I built-in a few versions back seems to be causing more problems than it fixes. It was intended to speed up loading your site and getting the data from ArtistData. Its supposed to refresh a few times a day, but it appears WordPress’s transient system isn’t the best system for this purpose. Like Alex said, I’m planning to remove it in the next version.
I’m currently working on a rewrite of the entire plugin to remove the caching as well as address the example data error. I can’t give an exact deadline when the updated plugin will be ready, but I am working on it.
Hey singer74,
I’m sorry you’re disappointed by the lack of support. I haven’t received any emails from the WordPress plugin directory about support requests since late 2013, so I didn’t know there were any waiting on me. Now that I’m seeing there have been a bunch this year, I’m going to see what I need to do to get these fixed up and resolved.
FYI, the topics close automatically after a period of time. The only ones I’ve closed are marked as “resolved” because I fixed them.
I’ve been planning to rewrite ADP for a while now, this is a good excuse to get it done. π

In reply to: [BP Profile Widgets] Error message your plugin caused damage to my site!Hey wciak,
Two things: if you’re not having the exact same issue as the original poster, you need to create your own post. It considered good forums courtesy to do instead “hi-jacking” someone else’s post.
Second, bottom_bar_enqueue is not a function within the BP Profile Widgets plugin, so you’ll need to figure out which plugin calls that and ask that developer.
Thanks and good luck,

In reply to: [BP Profile Widgets] Error message your plugin caused damage to my site!In that case, you’ll need to log into your server via FTP, delete the BP Profile Widgets plugin from the wp-content > plugins folder. Then you should be able to log back into the admin and install BuddyPress.

In reply to: [BP Profile Widgets] Error message your plugin caused damage to my site!Hey Charle,
BP Profile Widgets requires the plugin BuddyPress, so you’ll need to install that first. The error you’re seeing if because BPPW uses a function within BuddyPress, so it should go away once you install BuddyPress.
Thanks

In reply to: [BP Profile Widgets] This user has not activated their music player. For any coming to this thread later:
John had created a new profile field group and new fields in that new group, none of which were connected to the widgets. Ultimately, he wanted to rename the tab and fields to make it easier on the end users.
We discovered the profile field group can be renamed after it has been created by the plugin, but not beforehand. You cannot rename the fields (at least not in the 0.5.3 version of the plugin) because the plugin looks for them by name. This is yet another change I’ll explore in the next version.
I’m marking this as resolved.

In reply to: [BP Profile Widgets] This user has not activated their music player.Sorry for not responding sooner, its been a crazy weekend! I can take a look, email me: chris at slushman dot com.
I don’t know of another plugin that does what mine does, unfortunately, which is why I wrote it. Hopefully, I can figure why its not working on your site.

In reply to: [BP Profile Widgets] This user has not activated their music player.Yeah, on my test site, I get a player using either my test URL or your URL. I’m not certain what could be the issue then.
Do you know what version of PHP you’re using on your server? I believe you’d need at least 5.2+.
Do you have other plugins running? I try to write my stuff to not conflict with others, but that’s always a possibility. Maybe something has turned oembed?
I gotta admit, you got me stumped.

In reply to: [BP Profile Widgets] This user has not activated their music player.Weird. I’m not able to reproduce the issue on my end. What happens if you deactivate, then reactivate? If that doesn’t work, what about reinstalling the plugin?

In reply to: [BP Profile Widgets] This user has not activated their music player.Does it work if you put the URL for SoundCloud set instead of the profile?
In the case of SoundCloud, the player is embedded via oEmbed. I”m guessing SoudCloud doesn’t have an oEmbed player available from the profile URL, but would from a set URL.
You can try out this URL to test:

I believe these issues were resolved with an update I put out a while back, just hadn’t got back here to post. Let me know if that’s not the case.
