    That’s a huge help, thank you very much! This is getting me down the right path and I even got a few things corrected already. I should be able to finalize my personal updates over the next couple of days.

    Mpol,

    I’ll just assume that your grasp of the English language is a bit weak. I at no time asked you to write the code for me, as this is something I am attempting to learn myself. With that being said, there are several great folks on these forums that do that and more when people swallow their pride and ask for assistance. To reiterate, I am personally attempting to learn CSS writing myself; however, my CSS writing skills are worth nothing if I can’t determine what areas of the code I need to identify to affect the changes I would like to make.

    My original request was for a little assistance with identifying the portions of your widget’s code that govern the areas where I’d like to make some changes. Before asking for assistance, I attempted several times to use the “Inspect Element” feature of Google Chrome to figure this out. Though I was able to figure out one of them, the other five still escape me at this point. If you look at my webpage you will see that I almost have #1 figured out. I would have appreciated something as simple as this to enable me to start writing code to customize these areas the way I want:

    1. html .timeline-header, html .tweet
    2. ???
    3. ???
    4. ???
    5. ???
    6. ???

    Again, I don’t need you to write any code for me, nor would I request that from you. I would just like some help figuring out which pieces of your widget’s code govern these areas.

    Sir,

    Thanks for the updated styles. The transparency style helped me out a lot. I was wondering if you could help guide me onto a few more lines of the code that I could then use to tweak the style myself a little more. I searched endlessly trying to figure out which ones would affect the updates I wanted to make but I just couldn’t figure it out.

    The screen capture link below shows the 6 little tweaks I would like to make and I numbered them in order to help ensure we are talking about the same things each time.

    1. I would like to assign a color to the border of the widget
    2. I would like to change the color of the word “Tweets” which is currently black and difficult to see.
    3. I would like to change the color of my name which is black and currently difficult to see.
    4. I would like to make the background of the “locator” icon transparent
    5. I would like to make the background of the “reply/retweet/favorite” submenu transparent when I hover over it.
    6. I would like to fill the “Tweet to” box with the color black instead of white.

    I think if you guided me onto the various parts of the code that I need to alter for each one of these then I could make the changes myself to the style_twitter.php file which is what I used to get me to this point so far.

    Thanks for your kind reply. Unfortunately I am a NEWBIE in this realm.

    I added a file to my theme directory called style_twitter.css. When I attempted to open it through the backend to edit the file, it asked me to “select the character encoding to use when opening this file.” There were like 100 different choices to choose from. I have no idea which one to choose.

    I’ve done a little bit of coding on my site to tweak some colors, margins, and text size in other areas but normally they are easy to locate and I just update these areas through the custom CSS within the theme that I use. I haven’t been able to determine what code I need to locate in order to affect the styling of this twitter feed. Do you have any recommendations for how I should approach this to get started?
