In reply to: Moving files to root dir; WP cannot find blog files nowipstenu – Yes, there is an index.html page in the same folder as wp-config.php
obscure – tried disabling plugins (akismet was the only one running) still getting the “New Site” message.
Also, the /index.html brings me to a 404 not found page.

In reply to: Cannot access the install.php file on browserOne step forward, two steps back. I cleared my database tables, which allowed me to run the intstall. Now that it is installed, and asking for my password (that unique # generated just for lil ol me) and I want the system to send me a new one because I am awesome and didnt write it down, I am not getting the emails from the password request system.

In reply to: Cannot access the install.php file on browserOk, now a new wrinkle. Accessed the login page for wordpress, so obviously something has been installed. However, my username & password do not seem to exist. Again, probably missing something really basic here, but I know I have a user name & login. When I ask it to send my my password, it says my email/username do not exists. Obviously I missed a step somewhere.

In reply to: Cannot access the install.php file on browserOk, so when I try to load up the install from sixby10tinykitchen.com/web/content/worpress/wp-admin/install.php, this is the error that I get:
The requested URL /web/content/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php was not found on this server.
And when I load it up from the root directory, sixby10tinykitchen.com/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php, this is the error that I get:
You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.
I’m thinking there is something very basic that I am missing. All of my files are at the /web/content/wordpress/wp-admin directory using my FTP, so isn’t that where I should point the browser to find them?
