I had the same issue. I ended up adding a text widget with no title and putting the shortcode to the playerlist in the content of the text widget.
This forced it to work.

and altered that a little to ‘force’ the alignment that I wanted but this change is much cleaner. Thank you. and Great job with this plugin.
I can’t quite locate the css code to center the cell body of the league tables. Could I get some help with that?
I believe the setting is located under the plugins/sportpress/assets/css/sportpress.css but can’t seem to get it right.
