Thank you for confirming that the theme is most likely using a proprietary function. I will contact the theme developers to see how to make that change to use a standard WordPress function.
In the meantime, I wanted to ask: Is there any shortcode available to call the category list using the parent/child hierarchy directly?Thanks again for your guidance.

What do you recommend me to install for a third party SMTP plugin? so i can do that one too. and what should i ask to the Hosting provider for help?
