i quit for a while before going crazy…i’ve checked all the help you suggested and all make sense, but i think i found the problem. when i unzip the wordpress downloaded it doesn’t create the folders wp-content, wp-admin and so… what is the problem??

it really doesn’t solve the situation…
let me ask:
1. does it mean new version can be simply installed? i have to go through 1.2, then 1.5 and so on? what happens if i want a freshly new installation?
2. in the instructions you linked i can see now clearly which folders i have to keep… but what happens with all the files i have to upload? where i place them? and what happens with themes folder? do i have to create it?sorry to bother… before going to look for a programmer!!

having the same problem. i have installed an older version of wordpress in another host and i tried to copy that one for another blog in another server and worked fine. so database and everyhting is checked. but i want the new version! i don’t understand it cause when downloading i can’t see in it a lot of things i read around: themes, wp-admin file… don’t get it! and if simply put all the files in the place where i want to run the installation gives error.
please help!
