Spoke too soon. It still comes up with error code 404.

I contacted Bluehost Live Chat and they replied that they could see
that the IP address for the domain womenintheservices.com wasn’t set properly.

I had no idea what that met, as up until this week, it had been ok and I had changed nothing except renewed the site for a further year with Bluehost.

    Part of conversation:-

(Bluehost) Do you want me to set it to to Bluehost server IP?
(11:26)(Me) where was it set from before?
    (11:28) [Bluehost contact] Name: womenintheservices.com

(I then agreed to let Bluehost set it to their server IP)

{Bluehost] I have changed the IP address to Bluehost server IP. DNS changes will take up to 4 hours for propagation. Please check after 4 hours.

So I’m assuming this is ok and I’ll be checking my site in a couple of hours.

Went onto my stats page through a link, but can get no further as a red message came up that my site has been disconnected!

OK I have now after a lot of going round ‘the houses’ with the above information, found out by a method of deduction and purely by accident, that all I had to do to access my admin dashboard, was add

    /wp-admin/

    to my….. http://www.womenintheservices.com

such a simple thing, but nothing in the above reply, so maybe this could be a suggestion in future for anyone else who can’t access their dashboard.

Thanks for the reply, but I have no idea how to access any of this.
I did try the ‘manually resetting your plugins’ link, but after opening the phpMyAdmin, nothing on the listed index appears to relate to the instructions as to what to change.

I’m normally savvy with straight forward computer instructions, but this is baffling me. All I want is access to my wordpress site, that for some reason has left me with no admin access.

Can anyone help in an easier way?

Just an update onto why I couldn’t access my new wordpress site.

My son had an online chat with Bluehost and it seems they had blocked me!
As they didn’t recognise my IP, they thought because of the numerous times I was logging on to update it, that I was malaware or spam.

I can now log onto it and hopefully it won’t happen again.
    Thanks for your help.

Hi again….I’ve tried both of your url’s and neither work for me, so something must be wrong with my computer, although I can get other websites.

My youngest son (with IT knowledge) will be back tomorrow so I’ll see if he can fathom it out for me then. I’ll let you know the outcome and hopefully all will be working and thanks for your help. It’s appreciated.

I’ve now cleared my cache and cookies and still no luck.

When I say ‘desktop’ link, I mean ‘shortcut’

    the complete URL is http://www.womenintheservices.com/

    Hi,
When I click on my desktop link, it’s just a white page for ages with the ‘circle’ going round and round then the message that I copied above appears.
I’ve also tried googling the name and my old .com site shows as listed, but not my new .org

I’ve also tried putting the URL into my address bar manually (instead of desktop link) and still no luck…

Hi Walter, it’s hosted thru Bluehost. I’ve just clicked on the URL you’ve just given and still nothing.

Just to help further, this is what I get when trying to access my wordpress.org site….

•Make sure the web address http://api.viglink.com is correct.
•Look for the page with your search engine.
•Refresh the page in a few minutes.
