    The system worked fine under windows! Nothing has changed except my install of Fedora. I think its time to start again – not such a big deal. I can try a new test setup under Fedora and see if that works, before destroying the old one.

    I have read this, thanks, but I am not so familiar with code pages that I want to start dabbling with php files. I opened the admin/options.php file with an editor, to have a look, but nothing obvious that has to do with db reset. I cannot open the same file in a browser, for the same ‘you do not have permission’ message that I already have! Maybe I just need to start all over now I have Linux/Fedora?
