  • so how did you fix the error? I have the exact same problem. The Calendar in my page isn’t showing the event…but the text widget of upcoming events is…

thanks, this helped, it was simple-tags that was breaking my permalink structure.

I am having this same problem. Just upgraded to 3.1. Not sure if the upgrade was the problem or not, as I have not checked the links in some time. However, when I click on the links to the articles themselves, and then click on the category on THAT page, this action also takes me back to the home page.
Inserting a tag instead of category seems to solve this issue, however, I don’t want a menu of my tags. Changed my permalink structure using the first radio button and that seemed to work, however, i am trying to use a pretty permalink structure and using the post number is not very SEO friendly. Whenever I use any of the other radio buttons, since my navigation menu is listed by category, it just returns me to the front page, no matter what I do, or how I try I can’t get my navigation to work using category. I have category pages set up in my template. If anyone can help me with this, I sure would appreciate it. My website is http://www.outdoorcentral.com.

I am having the same problem, even though the plugin states that it works with wordpress 2.8 AND the Javascript tagging bug was fixed I am STILL receiving the status under the “click tags” section as:

This feature works only with activated JavaScript. Activate it in your Web browser so you can!

I hope the auther fixes this as my editor is legally blind (he can see, just not as well as you and I and has to use SUPER magnification and HUGE monitors) This part of the plugin has helped him immensly when it comes to tagging articles.

I have noticed, however, if you reduce the amount of plugins you use – we use about 20, down to just 4 or 5 plugins, the Simple Tags plugin will auto tag then, which is very weird.

    Thanks!!

Correction!! When I switch to fullscreen mode the media manager buttons appear, but when I click on them, the screen just turns grey and sits there and does nothing.

This happens in both firefox and IE. So what the heck is the problem here? This is really really bad!!

I am have had the same problem since version 2.6.3 and I don’t use the amazon plugin πŸ™

Would love to see a working solution as this is a staple for our blog. Have tried to contact the creator of the plugin to help find a resolution and have yet to receive and answer. I would even pay to have this plugin fixed, but I have still had no response from the creator of the plugin.

Hope we find a working solution soon!!

I have had the same problem since 2.6.3 it just stopped working in the middle of a post and has not started working since. I contacted the creator of the plugin and have had no response.

I did note in the plugin core that there is an extra set of “” at the end of =>thisversion””

I removed those extra quotes and still don’t have a working solution. Would love to get this plugin working again as it is a staple for us with over 25,000 tags in the db.

That’s all all fine and dandy, however, the problem still exists in my site, as I have now added the cyrptx plugin, which does encode the visual text to someemail[at]thisaddress[dot]com, however, on the code side, the mailto: link is still being converted into the

    <a href="http://www.mywebsite.com/%category%/mailto:jennifer.churchill@state.co.us" >jennifer.churchill@state.co.us</a>

Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE help me resolve this issue. I have no clue why wordpress is doing this and it happened shortly after I upgraded to version 2.5.1 and it has continued to do this through 2.6.3.

I am desperate for an resolution as our pagerank continues to be penalized because of the dead links in our pages.

    Thanks a million in advance!!

Does anyone ever provide any help in here anymore? This issue is 4 months old and all our email links with mailto: are still converting to URLs and it is annoying to say the least.

Google has also lowered our pagerank as we have several THOUSAND emails links to state agencies that are now converting into URLS which of course are going to our 404 page because its an invalid link.

Can someone PLEASE HELP us resolve this issue before we are penalized even further by google?

    Thanks

Wow – I’m having the same problem here, only my server says they had a Dos Attack today and the server completely crashed! The server is back up and running now, I can access my other webpages, ftp in, and I can even login to the MySQL database through the PHPAdmin client. However, I am still receiving the error message – any Ideas?

    Thanks

In reply to: New Plugin: Better Blogroll

Hey this is great! I was just wondering if anything else was out there like this. Can I make a suggestion? How about making it possible to add a micro-thumbnail to the left of the links to add some color to the blogroll? Would that be too hard to add in to the code?

So that when you go to add an new link and it’s description, you also have the option to place a link to an Image (and image dimensions to make sure it fits in the page correctly) that would sit just to the left of the link.

This would be a great asset to boost traffic by adding faces and breath life into those lifeless links that sit on your page, and a great way to draw further attention to them. Slap up a great looking micro-thumb that draws attention and chances are someone is going to see it, and be more apt to click on that link.

Just a though to add some life to the blogs.

Thanks for the plugin, its great as it is!
