Also, the people behind fluent also make a contact form, I tried it, but I couldn’t easily see how to make it show the sender, IP address and the sender browser information. Also, it seemed like it had more features than I needed, which to me means it will have more things that could break, and I’ll have to figure all this out again.

So I’m staying with Contact Form 7.

Lastly, I have no relationship with Contact Form 7, FluentSMTP, FluentForms, Send-in-Blue, or anybody else.

I’m just an amateur admin for my business sites, a regular user just like everybody else.

As the admin, I am now able to receive the messages that web visitors send through the contact us page.

Before, I would get the message (when testing), that everything worked fine and the message was sent successfully, but the email never arrived, not even in the spam folder.

I set up SPF and DKIM entries in DNS, waited 48 hours for DNS to propagate, played with and double checked captcha settings and tried creating alias email addresses as indicated im the FAQ.

But I still would not receive the Messages website visitors would send.

That is until I installed FluentSMTP, and hooked it into a free, Send-in-Blue account.

As I said, I don’t think I should’ve had to jump through all these hoops, but at least it’s working, and it’s working really reliably. Because I’ve even sent some really spammy looking messages as a test, and they still came to me.

    I hope that helps.

It apparently wasn’t with MIME types.

I added SSL and was on a SNI installation (no static IP for the SSL), which worked for some browsers and not others.

I got a dedicated IP, and forced SSL on all pages of the site, and all downloads are no longer renaming the file types…

Thanks, loriwildman! I don’t like installing any more plugins than absolutely necessary. I used the site you mentioned and found a single bad link on a page I had long forgotten about. I appreciate the tip!
