In reply to: [Shelf Planner Inventory Management for WooCommerce] Question about forecastHi
thanks for your comment and you’re right, these numbers seem a bit off. But I think there might be an explaination for this;
We use different algorithms depending on the age or lifecycle of the products. The choice for which algorithm to use is mainly driven by the date that is set for what we call ‘product launch date’.

Initially, we use the WooCommerce ‘publish date’ (see screenshot above) to determine the Product Launch Date, but you can overwrite these dates in the Product management pages:

It can happen that these dates are set to 1970.01.01, for example if you have uploaded products into WooCommerce tables from one database to another.
In that case, the engine picks these items up as products with an extremely long lifecycle and the forecast will be too low. Updating the Product Launch Date should in this case do the trick.
On out merchant support site, you can find some more information on how the forecast is calculated and what parameters you can change to impact the results: https://merchants.shelfplanner.com/faq/
I hope this answers your question. Please let us know if you have any other thoughts π
Hi,
thanks for testing our plugin, and thanks for your patience while our engine was processing the data to generate a forecast.
If no data is shown in the stock performance report, it is most likely because the Cost Price for products is not entered yet.
The idea is to show all order proposals are shown in both units and cost price, and by supplier.
You can easily bypass this step by ticking the box ‘Include all items w/o Cost Price, in the Setting/Forecast Settings page. This should populate all tables and reports.

Please also find some more information on the user guide;

Initially we did calculate the sales forecast and ideal stock on the plugin side, but due to performance challenges, we have moved this to our backend. Especially with larger volumes, we want to make sure not to affect the performance of your store.
Please let us know if you have any further thoughts or questions.
BR.Hi,
I will close this ticket, hope we answered your question.
Hi Elkin,
this is fixed in the last release (2 days ago)
Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you.
Kind regards
Hi Elkin,
we have added this to our roadmap and will be possible to do in the next release.
Kind regards
Hi,
technically, you can get a negative margin, if for example the shipping cost and tax / vat values are deducted.
Are you applying vat on the retail price, or are there any shipping costs applied on the orders? Thanks for your feedback.-

Of course we’ll make sure this issue is fixed asap as well.
Thank you for informing us.Kind regards
Hi,
we have not been able to replicate this issue unfortunately. On multiple sites the filter works as it should.
Just to confirm – are you using the latest version of our plugin and the latest version of WooCommerce? Thanks for your patience
Yes, that should solve the problem. Let us know if this doesn’t do the trick, then we’ll do some more digging π
Ok, I see.
We are no longer supporting / developing the original ‘Cost of Goods’ plugin, instead we will continue with the Shelf Planner plugin.we have connected the 2 plugins to make sure all history is contained also in the new plugin.
If you disable the Cost of Goods plugin, this issue should not happen again in the shelf planner plugin.
Let us know if this doesn’t fix the issue?
Hi Ahmed,
can you let us know if this is solved using the latest version of our plugin?
Thanks
Hi
We’re looking into this.
could you check and see if this issue also happens when you select the ‘standard WordPress view, instead of Shelf Planner full screen?
You can change these settings in ‘Settings / Forecast Settings and untick the box for fullscreen:
