Ah-ha! Yes, they do. I didn’t create any of those pages so I never noticed it. Slightly annoying that it affects the admin section as well as the actual menus.
I will remove them for now and hardcode the menu in which they appear.

Yup, looks like exploding the URL might be the only way of doing this for now. I did have a look at the two plugins that are floating around, but neither of them seems to do the job.
