I gather the site is new and has not been used yet? So I would recommend you delete every file and do a clean 2.3 install from scratch.
It may be easier than trying to work out why the plugins are not working.

I use it to pull in 2 posts from 5 different sites – just listing the site title and latest post titles. Not sure if you can make it so that the most recent moves to the top though.

In reply to: Adding Your WordPress to Your Site Index?Rather than trying to incorporate your WordPress install into your current site index, it may be an easier option to do the opposite and actually make WordPress your main site and add all the content accordingly.
This will provide you with a database structure for all of your information and can easily incorporate everything you have on your site at the moment.

In reply to: Theme Width?Rather than setting the theme as a fixed width, i.e. 800px or similar, set it to a percentage instead.
The hard part is when you are using set images as part of your theme design, but there are many work-arounds.

Open it and look what it contains and it should give you an idea of what it is doing.
