I gave up in the end. I have an old html website where i had an iframe which changed all the content pages while the main page stayed the same.
In the end I just gave in as the advantages of WordPress were just too great not to switch

In reply to: Individual post links not workingok.. found out why I couldnt access the individual post. I forgot to end my permalink structure with /
Now its just back to square 1. Links on the main site work fine, but when linking to an individual post, the links on that page do not work.
I will have a word with my host company but doubt I will get anywhere. I have set the permalinks to default. Its not ideal but everything works.

setting the permalinks to default gives me exactly what I want, all links work and I have no problems 🙂 BUT i would like to use prettylinks
I backedup the .htaccess file and then deleted it, I set my permalinks back up /%category%/%postname% and links still seem to work.
The only problem I have now is that I cannot link to an individual post, I will soon be start reviewing bands on teh site and I would like bands to be able to link directly to the post rather than the post getting lost as new posts take over.
What should I try next ?

Link A – when viewing the page, I can click all other links no problem.
Link B – I can view the post ok, but then I click on any other link, I get page cannot be displayed 🙁 and If I am getting it, I am sure others are too.
