This is a thread I’ve had with the developers for the Simple Map Plugin – emails have been removed for privacy, but I’m placing this in to help catch up on some discovery with this issue. To this point, I’m still having issues with the plugin working on my site – thanks! seopolitan

Oh – to be clear, it’s still not recognizing any of the menu categories, which seems to be causing issues with a bread crumbing plugin as well (Breadcrumb NavXT).
For example,
This page’s content area (If you click on this link: http://after30days.com/heritage-appraisers/appraisal-services/appraisals-by-state/) has several states as links. All I did was use the shortcodes from your plugin and placed it on each of these corresponding link’s page.
So, If you click on ‘Oklahoma’ it bring you to a page that has the shortcodes for Oklahoma locations:
[simplemap categories=16 default_lat=’35.4675602′ default_lng=’-97.51642759999999′]
So far so good. The map should populate only Oklahoma listings. Notice the Breadcrumb (via Breadcrumb NavXT) at the top left after clicking Oklahoma. It reads:
Appraisal Services > Appraisals By State > Oklahoma
These are all ‘pages’ in wordpress. But now, if you click on any of the Oklahoma locations to dig down to the next level, (in this example, click on Tulsa OK Jewelry Appraisal from the map results), the breadcrumb navigation changes paths?
Appraisal Services > Appraisals By State > Locations > Tulsa OK Jewelry Appraisal
It enters the link ‘Locations’, which is the exact same link as ‘Tulsa OK Jewelry Appraisal. It should read ‘Oklahoma’ instead of ‘Locations’. It should bread crumb like this:
Appraisal Services > Appraisals By State > Oklahoma > Tulsa OK Jewelry Appraisal
Clicking on Oklahoma should lead you back to the state level search results for OklahomaI realize this is a mix of the Breadcrumb plugin and the Simple Map plugin. I tried various breadcrumb plugins and they all show the same path, so I’m lead to believe this may be an issue with the Location categories.
Can you assist? Also, I can post this to the WP forum for this plugin as well.

Hi Glenn,The forum post that I was able to find is on WordPress. I posted my issue here:
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-simplemap-store-locator-location-categories-not-available-for-menu-creation?replies=1Is this the correct one?
If there’s another one, please let me know! Also, I’m running 2.4.2 of the plugin. Under General options for this plugin, Enable Location Permalinks is checked. ALso, everything under Location taxonimies is checked.

Hi John,
Sorry we didn’t catch this earlier. Have you found the support forums yet? We monitor that more regularly (although the holiday did back us up a bit this week). The location categories probably don’t show up in the menu editor because the location posts aren’t ‘public’ in version before 2.4 of SimpleMap. In 2.4+, you’ll need to enable them in General Options (the permalink settings). Can you see if they work after you do that?
