Forum: Localhost Installs
In reply to: WordPress installation on my own computer?Similar enquiry with a twist. I want to build my website before transferring my domain to the website host (Hostpapa). Hostpapa seem to have difficulty accommodating this reasonable request so I am trying to build the website on my PC but cannot get WordPress to work.
Any suggestions?
The site http://www.marchesdigital.co.uk is on Moonfruit at the moment and I just want to get out!

In reply to: [Sixhours] Hiding dashboard titleHad a look at Settings General and there is nowhere to do this. Only Site Title, Tag line, URL’s, email, membership, default role, dates, time, zone and week start can be changed here.
Its the dashboard title I want to hide/remove from my pages so it doesn’t look like duplicated text.

In reply to: [Sixhours] Version 2.0 has moved the menu!I don’t have the ability to create a child theme and only ever used whatever was available with virtually no changes. The link is http;//secretfocus.co.uk if it helps.
Before the recent update the menu was to the right above ‘archives’ and in the same style as ‘archives’.
I see also that my header title has also changed onto two lines instead of one and images and text have moved all over the place on some pages.
I will have to spend a lot of time sorting this out so not very pleased!
Hope you can help.

In reply to: Dashboard Screen Options Not FunctioningI have something similar and cannot find a solution.
When ‘pages’ is selected from the dashboard I have somehow lost the page description and keywords columns and cannot find any method to recover them.
When I click ‘screen options’ all I get is what is already shown ‘title’ ‘author’ and ‘date’. No other options are available.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

In reply to: Sixhours theme h1 tag changeThanks, but I am still new to html etc.
Where in the style sheet should this go? What precedes it and what follows it?

In reply to: [Sixhours] [Theme: Sixhours] Adding Headers and basic linksNot sure if this problem is only on Sixhours theme but All in One is very confusing. How did you set up the Options configuration panel and the individual page settings? I have tried to do both and it seems to me that the Options panel will conflict with at least one of the page settings.

In reply to: [Sixhours] [Theme: Sixhours] Adding Headers and basic linksTried doing this but my worry is that the only option appearing to be offered by All in One is the Home page. I did try my About us page but there was no way of verifying if both pages had been done – confused!

In reply to: [Sixhours] [Theme: Sixhours] Adding Headers and basic linksGot that and it seems easy to use, so hope it stays that way! I have enabled All in One for my home page. Do I need to do it for my other pages?

In reply to: [Sixhours] [Theme: Sixhours] Adding Headers and basic linksGot the all in one pack and looked at the recommended forum post but I have no knowledge of HTML CSS or PHP and I cannot see how to create a directory or child theme (as above). What next?

In reply to: [Sixhours] [Theme: Sixhours] Adding Headers and basic linksI have been told by my host that keywords and meta descriptions to improve SEO can be added to a page header but I cannot see how to do this with the sixhours theme. I am VERY NEW to this sort of work and already confused and lost with the ‘child theme’ process so I don’t know if this where I should be looking. Any help is appreciated.
