additionally we found another way by using a segment in the audience with this condition:
Product purchased – contains – “Preorder”
hopefully this helps others, too.
(weird, that mc-support doesn’t know this way)
Sounds weird, that “vendors” is pulling at selecting the email-automation-trigger “product category”.
To vendor-hook/-plugin, I’m unsure, if I understand aright:
setting 2 different vendors to our products, could be a way to get that mc-trigger for selecting 2 different “product categories”:
a) the vendor “Sale”
b) the vendor “Preorder”After your upcoming plugin-update to 2.3.1 one option = the actual vendor (we) should be visible/selectable in MC.
If that’s true, we can think about adding custom hook. The changes made via the Woocommerce Product Vendors Plugin-plugin are too much.

additionally to c) (see above):
I get info of the MC-CS that it isn’t possible to choose products, which contains a word in their product-title as a trigger.–
Thank you for your kind support!
Thank you for your answers!
a.
to your question:
at creating an automation email (ecommerce) in MC this trigger is visible/shown:“Purchase product from category” and under “Settings” no product-category is shown/selectable.
.
To the problem itself, the MC-Support told me:
“WooCommerce does not sync Categories with their E-commerce platform.”
“This is a setting of the WooCommerce integration. This is information that is not set up to sync with the platform.”
“this plugin was developed by WordPress, not Mailchimp.”…and sounds contradictory to
“categories are not supported by the Mailchimp API.”

For me (and probably other woocommerce-shops) it’s sobering, cause we are sitting in between.
It seems so, that the actual market-leaders (WordPress, WooCommerce and MailChimp) doesn’t have an vital interest to get a solution to that 2-3 year old task even it’s on the roadmap since 2 years of @mcsupport.
