Actually, it seems the problem is more wide-spread, my friend, due to the mounting threads regarding the problem. I’m really too busy to get into an email debate over it, so here’s what I’d tell your developer: new WordPress install, Interstellar theme (bare bones), no other plugins activated. At all. This is a fresh, new site just under development. And I’ve got version 2.6.8 working fine, so I’m not worried. I can always switch to another slider if necessary.
I just wanted to give your developer(s) a heads up. Just let us know when the problem has been solved.

Just a note: I manually reverted to version 2.6.8, and the ability to add new sliders is back in working order. I can confirm that it’s a problem with the update itself.
