I just removed the plugin manually, I then reinstalled and activated it.
So far it’s not giving me any critical errors, so fingers crossed this fixed it.
I’ll work on removing it manually and report back, thanks!
Hi James
I tried uninstalling it via the WordPress back-end, but it’s giving me the following error; Deletion failed: There has been a critical error on this website.Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.
Now I’m not getting any errors on the website at the moment, so I’m really not sure how to interpret this.
Is there any other way for me to manually remove the plugin?
Hi James,
Thanks for the quick reply. I just sent in my Site Health information via the Google form.
I don’t believe I am able to change PHP versions, we’re currently on 5.1.1. Our host updates themselves every so often.
I have not tried re-enabling site kit yet as I figured I’d get some more info here first.
Should I start now by removing and reinstalling it now?I might be that something is wrong with the installation, as I’ve also found some php warnings in our logs that /wp-content/plugins/google-site-kit/includes/loader.php is not found and thus not present in our database, which would probably result in an error eventually.
