I’m trying to do the same thing, but simply editing the header.php file only removes the functionality (but did not remove it from the navigation menu).
I would prefer to keep the functionality (in case I want it later) and simply remove ‘archives’ ‘categories’ and ‘search’ from the navigation menu.
Any ideas?
