but to answer your question, yes I know the differences between subdomains and subfolders – everything was set up correctly. my FTP client supports drag/drop. 🙂
i.e. backstage.mydomain.com/wp-admin exists.
RESOLVED –
no idea why this made a difference, but I re-edited wp-config.php in a text editor vs. dreamweaver & resaved. That did the trick.
and yes, the wp subfolders were all uploaded as well – missed that part of your question.
correct… just a straightforward drag/drop into the backstage folder w/ an updated wp-config.php.
I’ve performed half a dozen WP installations & never had a problem – didn’t know if it was related to the subdomain here, as that’s the only thing I’ve done differently w/ this one.
