    FTP Access

We do not allow FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access to any WordPress.com blogs. Please see the information below on alternatives to using FTP.

would WordPress.com or WordPress.org be better for my needs?
As I did not install it (done by the help line) how do I know which I have?

    Thanks.
But here is where I am today. I did that I can see and upload files to the static_files directory. However, I can’t point to it (in WordPress) and access it from the webpage. (OK, I can point to it but I get a file not found) In fact, I have totally deleted a file from, cpanel so I know it is not using it. WordPress seems to only be able to use files located in its Media Library. I can’t /don’t know how to FTP to the media library so still can’t access current files from WordPress.

In a nutshell: I want to automatically FTP current weather data files to my WordPress-run web page; have these new files overwrite the files of the identical name so when clicking on a link, the most recent weather is viewed. I have done this in the past (not with WordPress) and I never had a problem. I hope I am explaining myself clearly.

    OK
How do I ftp to the WP folder?

I have tried lots of variations to the point my cpanel has lots of subdirectories (and I can’t seem to remove them) but the WP webpage can’t find them.
