    thisisedie,

Thanks for the help, but wow, I don’t think I’m going to find the motivation to dig through correcting dozens and dozens of html errors in WordPress templates, especially when that may not even resolve current and future issues. I would rather one work out of the box, so to speak.

The bad part for me is that 3 of the 4 templates I planned and designed for have dramatic issues when used across different platforms.
I happened to find the one good one first and was lulled into a false sense of security for the next 3 which I was attempting to launch all together.

I just have to accept that I got bit. I have definitely learned a lesson from all this. I’ll start over and try to find quality and current templates. Also, it seems to be important to find templates from designers who are obviously gung ho about making improvements and upgrading to match current browser specs.

I will just have to launch all my podcast stuff and photo journal after I arrive in Japan. The world will manage to survive somehow. 🙂

You guys responded so quickly, I worry you might have seen other themes I was rotating in to check if they had similar problems.
I appreciate being able to get help here so quickly.

I just took out the ad stuff for a moment to see what would happen. It is all back in now. That doesn’t seem to be the issue at http://JapanPhotoJournal.com.

I am a little disheartened to say the least. I had a couple of other small projects I was trying to put up as well to coincide with my departure for Japan. All of the templates I invested HOURS and HOURS seeking out are pretty much unusable when tested across multiple browsers and multiple platforms.

And I spent more HOURS and HOURS designing replacement header graphics matching those same non-functioning templates before I knew the dirty little secret about non-functioning WordPress templates (which I just learned tonight).

I guess my next question is…
Where should I look for templates that actually work on modern versions of all the major browsers.
Obviously when things are free, they don’t really have to work or be kept updated.

Are the themes available here some of the only ones thought to be reliable? Are even the ones on this site generally reliable?
