In reply to: Screwed up settings page – can’t get back in!OK, it’s fixed. I did the http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/ fix… can’t believe it actually worked the way it was supposed to.
Thank you so much. You are a genius.

In reply to: Screwed up settings page – can’t get back in!Sorry – I feel so dense…
In the wp-config.php file, the instruction is to find
define(‘WP_SITEURL’, ‘http://example.com/wordpress’);
and change the url. but in my config file, there is nothing that reads WP_SITEURL or HOME. Do I create it and put it in there?

In reply to: Screwed up settings page – can’t get back in!I found it – it was in the public_html file. But nothing about the settings and I don’t see the “new” url to change it back to the old one… I’m reading the other solutions again.

In reply to: Typepad images not showing in blogThanks – that got me started down a whole new path. Thought this was going to be simple but au contraire! But typepad is a mess so I’m determined to get outta there.

In reply to: Images Not Showing Upiridiax, I just imported by typepad posts into wordpress. Oddly, the photos show up on the edit page, but even when I re-save, they don’t show up on the blog. They do have the old typepad urls. Like:
<img class=”at-xid-6a00d83451b8b869e20105365adca1970b” style=”margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px;” title=”IMG_5449″ src=”http://abroadincostarica.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83451b8b869e20105365adca1970b-320pi” alt=”IMG_5449″ />
Jeez. I can do the search and replace – I’ll do it on the text file and re-upload. But… what is the new url? I can just replace the old url and this will upload the photo to wordpress?
Thanks for your help.

In reply to: Error running typepad converterThis link:
http://{your-install}/wp-admin/import.php
is the one that is on the import page in the admin panel in wordpress.I used it but it did not import my photos. And I had to split my file into two pieces.
Last night, I imported my blog at wordpress.com (the free blog site where you use their server) and it imported beautifully: all photos, everything and all at once – didn’t have to split the file.
Why won’t it import as easily onto my web host? Very frustrating.

In reply to: Error running typepad converterI am just researching how to import my typepad blog into wordpress… a little dismayed by all the negative reports and no up to date instructions. Carterco, is this still working? I’m going to try it, now a little nervous… Thanks!
