Thanks for your response. After the tax got deleted I added it again under the same name. Unfortunately this didn’t get everything back, but I added all posts to the right taxonomy again.
Rewriting the slug did work, thanks for the tip!

Never mind, fixed it. The problem wasn’t with your theme but with another plugin we’re using.
