Apologies for the late reply but it has taken me a while to got home and sort this out. Your suggestion of disabling plugins was spot on and solved the problem. Apparently something in Jetpack was causing the problem and once I Deactivated Jetpack the slideshow worked fine, even when I re-activated Jetpack.
Lesson learnt there and thanks very much for your reply and help with this.

I have copied the Frontend::subfolders to my child-theme and added the above functions to my function list but nothing happens. Have I done this/understood you correctly?

In reply to: [Eazyest Gallery] noobee needing helpFurther to the above, to clarify my comments, it is the index that is not working correctly. The slideshow displays images correctly but not as per the ‘sort settings’ in the settings page. Strangely enough the index works just fine on the thumbnail pages.
