Please try putting following CSS in Smooth Slider => Settings => Basic Settings => Miscellaneous => Custom Styles.

.slider_thumbnail.full.smooth_slider_thumbnail {
max-height: none !important;
height: 500px !important;
}

Here we have used 500px height, you change it as per your requirement.

To pick contents from testimonials first check setting on Testimonial Slider => Settings => Slider Contents => Testimonial Content => Pick content From. Set it “From Content”, Then Go to Testimonial Custom Post (which appears on WP Dashboard after activating testimonial Slider.) create new post and update. Your content of posts will automatically appear in slider.

You can use template tag of Testimonial Slider in to your themes file to get slider on front end. It depends on where you want display your slider. For example, if you want to display slider on every page then use it in page.php.

Let me know where you want to display your slider.

Testimonial Slider having widget to insert it into widgetized area, Just Place Testimonial Slider widget into Footer widget area. Testimonial Slider having 3 types of widget Testimonial Slider Recent, Testimonial Slider Category and testimonial Slider Simple. You can find Testimonial Slider widgets in Appearance => Widgets section of WP dashboard. First check which slider you want to insert and then appropriate widget place into widget area.

}
