What was the solution here? what was wrong with the .htcaccess?
I have the same problem after upgrading to 3.2.1 All the images are broken but the link is correct: For instance even the default theme image:
http://yvettebuhagiar.com/wp-content/themes/twentyten/screenshot.png
is the correct link and I can see the file in the FTP Client, but shows nothing. My whole website looks like a text file, where’d the theme features go?!-Novice

I know it’s the weekend, just wanted to let you know i finally installed it successfully! After spending ages updating WordPress using FTP, since the automatic update got messed up along the way and rendered the whole WP installation useless – ‘scheduled maintenance!!’. Anyhow, I guess Mailchimp 1.2.5 is meant for the latest, and only the latestestest, WP.
I deactivated all the plugins and tried the install again. Here’s the output:

The FTP credentials I use give max access. I can’t understand what could be wrong. Sometimes, using the same Add New, it says something like can’t create Blah folder. If I create the folder for it using the FTP client, it says, Folder already exists!! Aaaargh.Best
