In reply to: Manual import from archived WordPress Blog? The Back-up DB is still in place, I just renamed it.
The thing is, the new WP install doesn’t seem to be using a SQL DB, or at least I can’t find it to replace with the old one.
.. but I’m guessing it’s not as simple as just replacing the new SQL_DB with the old one.

In reply to: Manual import from archived WordPress Blog? What would be the best way for me to that if I have a backup copy of the SQL DB?

In reply to: Can someone check this out on I.E.?Thanks Kalon.
I traced the problem to one particular video on my site.
Still not sure what the problem was, but I removed it and it’s all good now…. well, mostly good.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Lightview not working with IEOK… so I have narrowed it down to one particular embedded video and Lightview Plus (not LIghtroom Plus).
I think I have a handle on the situation, but I have another issue with IE which I will address in a different post.

In reply to: Lightview not working with IEI have narrowed it down to a conflict between LIghtroom Plus and embeded video.
Anyone have similar issues or any suggestions for a work around?

Now to figure out how to fix.

In reply to: Kind of a noob question, but I don’t want to screw this up.Why would you say #2 is better in the long run?
I can find my way around my FTP client just fine, but option 1 seems a bit simpler and keeps my root directory tidier.Re: “Fairly bright”… that is debatable, but according to Garrison Keillor us Minnesotans are “above average,”… or is that just the children? … so who knows? 🙂

In reply to: Give it to me hard-a noob ventures into bloggingI like the new sub head. Reallly helps.
I like the bigger images too.If you could still add just a little color.
A little time in the WP documentation and you should be good to go.I was teasing too.
Interesting topic. Can’t say I’ve seen anything like it.Forum: Your WordPress
In reply to: Too large??I’m running Safari on a Mac and nothing looks too big.
Here are my suggestions:
Change the body typeface to a non-serif font, i.e. Arial, Helvetica.. The look of the two serif fonts together (courier and times roman) makes me cringe.
(BTW, did you pick courier bold for the header type face because of the Clifford name… you know, of course that this is the same typface and weight used on the “Clifford the Big Red Dog” books. I should know… my kids have a bunch.Anyhoo…. The only other major recommendation would be to get a handle on how your images display. They are all over the place. Pick a thumbnail size and stick with it. And that pop-up viewer for the pics took F-o-r-e-v-e-r to load an image. Either the photos need to be resized smaller or the fact that I’m in Asia may have something to do with it.
Oh.. and there is a big empty sidebar to the left.
Aside from that, everything is dandy.

In reply to: Give it to me hard-a noob ventures into bloggingYou might want to be more clear about the focus of the blog in the sub-header.
It took me a while to figure out that this wasn’t some Science Fair project. The layout is good for what it is.
Why the small thumbnails. We don’t need the flys to scale. Enlarge!A splash of color for the background of the sidebar or something wouldn’t kill ya.
Don’t be so paranoid. Lose the watermarks on the photos. No one’s going to steal your pictures of flies. If they do. Who cares?
Interesting info on flies.
Thanks for sharing.
FWIW, you won’t be invited over for dinner.
