I am hosting this on mamp locally. I think it might be somehing to do with the loop in the index.php I will try. Thanks for your help anyway
Thanks esmi I have styled my font etc in my body in css. But the posts over ride the css. Do I need a post in css or something like that?

Update, I have installed wordpress locally on mac, all went well. I have been messing around with the default wordpress template, inserting pages instaed of blogs and customizing my admin login page. Should I start with an exsising wordpress template and modify the themplate? what you think?
