In reply to: Need to have single themes folder for many blogsGotta say I am just mildly curious as to why anyone wants to be doing this anyway. If the OP is not root he is not admin. But in these circumstances I would use a script. Only way I would think except WPMU ?

In reply to: Previous-Next blog IE problem. It is not a bug. It is inconsistent rendering across platform in the theme. A skilled designer can eliminate that with no problem. It is a mystery to many of us why it is like that. 🙂

In reply to: Previous-Next blog IE problem.I am with the OP on this. 🙂 Sorry 🙂 . Yes it sucks. Yes we know it sucks and so do Automattic. And no they haven’t done anything to fix it in 2 years. And I do not know why. 🙂 And OT many of us here could fix it in 2 minutes. 🙂

In reply to: How to setup Special Home for Different WordPress usersI might allocate each subset of users to a category. Then have a static front page introducing and linking to the cats / user groups.
It puts it one click down. To eliminate that click would involve some very complex cookie hackery I would think. You could use a cat offest to keep the cat first pages constant ie static. Kindof.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: I Think I’ve Been HackedYou still need to upgrade to the latest WP version.

In reply to: Conditional tag breaks Ie6I would dump that whole theme. The code is really sucky. When we have php turning out CSS we need to quit and get a better job.

In reply to: Customization of ThemesWell for anything substantive you guys need to forget any idea of using the inline template editor within WP. We all edit our stuff elsewhere. Either locally using XAMPP or similar or in a live test blog. But in each case the two tools required are a decent text editor
and the ability to use either ftp or at a push the file manager in CPanel. This then needs to be followed by extensive reading of the material in the codex (docs) herein. Theme dev in the inline editor is a fast track to a nervous breakdown.:)
